Dhaka is an ancient, Historically rich and glorious city with a proud heritage. Dhaka gained the status of the capital during the Mughal period. Not only as an ancient and prosperous city, Dhaka has become one of the most important cities in Asia as the capital of independent sovereign Bangladesh. In the past, Dhaka city has played a glorious role for centuries and eras. In the eighteenth century, Dhaka was the twelfth best city in the world.

Dhaka, which was once a small, Clean, Peaceful city on the banks of the Buriganga River has today become a troubled and crowded city. According to the United Nations, By the year 2000, the population of Dhaka will exceed one crore. As a result, Dhaka will become a megacity. Dhaka city cannot bear this huge population pressure. Dhaka city and its residents have become victims of lack of planning, Careless neglect and planned deprivation. The indigenous people of Dhaka are today crushed by the cycle of exploitation.

Many famous and valuable personalities have been born in this historical city. Those who have been able to make important contributions in the national and international arena. The country and the nation have become prosperous due to the footsteps of many talented individuals of Dhaka. Dhaka has nurtured the history and tradition of the country, Nurtured the country’s distinguished people, Nurtured the politics and culture of this country. In every field of movement and struggle, at every stage of the movement, the indigenous people of Dhaka have played a glorious role for generations. The first sun of independence rose in this Dhaka at the extreme juncture of the war of independence. The contribution of Dhakaiyas in every field of Political, Social, Cultural and Economic progress of the country is glorious and praiseworthy.

However, the great contribution of these Dhakaiyas is going to be forgotten today. Twenty-five million Dhakaiyas are the victims of a planned conspiracy today. The entire area where the indigenous people of Dhaka live, especially old Dhaka, is extremely neglected and neglected today. Traffic jams, unhealthy environment, Broken and dilapidated roads, lack of clean water, Poor sewage lines and drainage, Mosquito Infestation, Electricity, lack of entertainment and parks, Lack of sports opportunities, and lack of education, the indigenous people of Dhaka are living a subhuman life today. Dhakaites have no representation or participation in any plan of Dhaka. The residents of Dhaka are today victims of corruption and exploitation. Like ‘Foreigners in their own land’, the indigenous people of Dhaka have their backs against the wall today. Yet they are the ones who pay the highest taxes to the government treasury.

Facing all these inefficiencies, the indigenous people of Dhaka are united under the flag of the Dhaka Metropolitan Association. The organization was formed in 1965 under the leadership and wisdom of its predecessors. Today, the Dhaka Association has become prosperous and powerful by climbing the ladder of history. Keeping the mountain of problems of Dhakaiyads in front, Dhaka Samity is adopting and implementing strong programs. It has undertaken extensive social, Cultural and Economic activities. In addition, Dhaka Samity has also adopted uncompromising and timely programs to solve the political and regional problems of Dhakaiyads. The brave soldiers of time are taking Dhaka Samity forward.

The triennial conference of Dhaka Metropolitan Samity (Dhaka Samity) is today, and at the same time, the inauguration of the third full-fledged executive committee is today. This memoir has been published on this occasion.
